In May 2024, entrepreneur Shinuna Al-Barwani, founder and CEO of Metro Muscat, took center stage at the prestigious COMEX Global Technology Exhibition. Held under the patronage of His Highness Dhi Yazan bin Haitham Al Said, the event gathered technology and entrepreneurship leaders to showcase innovative solutions. Al-Barwani emphasized Metro Muscat’s commitment to empowering Omani and Arab youth by connecting aspiring entrepreneurs with investors, underscoring the platform's role in supporting a vision for one million digital Arab entrepreneurs and fostering sustainable economic growth.
Al-Barwani’s leadership was further recognized at COMEX, where she was honored with the "Best Female Entrepreneur" award for her contributions to e-commerce through Metro Muscat. The award highlighted her ability to offer innovative and scalable solutions that drive economic and social development. As a leading figure in the e-commerce sector, her efforts to advance the digital economy have resonated throughout Oman and the wider Arab world, positioning Metro Muscat as a catalyst for entrepreneurship.
Shinuna Al-Barwani showcased Metro Muscat at COMEX and won the "Best Female Entrepreneur" award for her impact on e-commerce. She also led a workshop to equip entrepreneurs with essential digital business skills.
In addition to her award, Al-Barwani hosted a transformative workshop focused on helping entrepreneurs’ transition from traditional business models to e-commerce. The session, held in collaboration with the Innovation and Development Platform and Al-Bayan Institute, equipped participants with essential skills in e-commerce, digital marketing, and financial management. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to empower Omani entrepreneurs, support youth freelancing, and enhance the country’s digital infrastructure in alignment with Oman Vision 2040.
